Thank you to everyone for the birthday messages they are very much appreciated and very encouraging. I feel much better now so I`m back again. Today started the usual way with a call from Amicus Horizon (Adrian Harding) who says he wants to arrange the redecoration of our ceilings following the damage caused by Amicus Horizon in May 2009. I told him that I do not want them to do it because of the way they are using their powers to disrupt our lives and destroy our home. They still insist that that they want to repaint the ceilings (we`ve been waiting months!) and then at a later date (perhaps) arrange to repaint the walls following the removal of the plaster in Feb & March 2010. Everything that they do seems planned in such a way to keep the house uninhabitable for extended periods of time. We have paid for one room to be completed by a genuine builder so that our children had somewhere to sleep, we will continue to save and sell things until we can have the rest done properly to a fair standard and as it should be with little disruption. Mr Harding said he was completely unaware of the situation despite our previous phone conversations and the correspondence that has passed between us.
Most decent landlords would treat their tenants in the same way that they would want to be treated themselves. Actually most decent landlords would be forced to by the law!.

It's very worrying if there is disability discrimination towards housing tenants. I was also shocked to see the comments about losing playgrounds because the authorities find park benches easier to maintain!

So its not ok for the builders to go in the bathroom but its fine for a 5yr old to bath in there and brush there teeth every day! makes me sick!!!

Mark like so many other Amicus Horizon tenants prefers to remain unidentified because he is afraid of being evicted. This comes up every time how can it be right that so many tenants of this Housing Associaion are frightened of illegal reprisals to legitimate complaints, this problem alone should cause local authorities so much concern, especially when there is always a disabled member of the family at most risk. Where is the Child, or adult Social Care? Where are the councillors? Where are the M.P`s? Why are there so many gaps in these services? Why is Amicus Horizon allowed to exploit them all?

I have received a letter from the Human Rights Commission today and they are satisfied that I have explored all avenues and done everything that I could be reasonably expected to do and they have asked me to send in all correspondence and paperwork so that they can have my case referred.
We will get there in the end.

Having spent the last few years suffering from the bullying techniques employed by Amicus Horizon staff I find it a genuine pleasure to assist and support anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation but I do ask that you continue to support us after your complaints are properly dealt with because it is not enough to get a repair completed, or to win a solitary court case. We all need the law to be enforced in such a way that Amicus Horizon properly train their staff, and stop using the complaints procedure as a weapon to punish vulnerable tenants. We need the law to force them to become a reasonable and fair landlord.

We received the quarterly inspection report from Amicus Horizon yesterday which assures us that the owners of two untidy gardens will be receiving letters, and that the untaxed motorbike parked on a pathway will be investigated.
The trouble with Amicus Horizon is they wish that they were the police! and in playing at being them they neglect their own obligations such as: If they had looked up a little from the gardens they would have noticed that the outside of our houses has not been painted for at least 15 years, yet the tenancy agreements specify that they will be painted every four years. If they looked across the road they would see the playground that needs upgrading, if they had checked the garages they would have seen asbestos and needles. Untaxed motorbikes is the responsibility of our community police officer who has the ability to see if it is sworn off road and the powers to do something about it, the gardens are the responsibility of the tenants. The property is the responsibility of the landlord, anybody else agree with this because Amicus Horizon do not seem to.

Jeremy Birch leads our council? There is plenty about Jeremy Birch on this site, Councillor Birch stood by and did nothing when Amicus Horizon stole £600 from our youngsters and then barred them from the community halls, they were actually dumped on the street in the rain outside The Bridge in Halton. Jeremy Birch in charge of our council translates to Amicus Horizon in charge of our council, It`s a very sad day.

Thank you for your support Paul, the worrying aspect of this is that the vast majority of complaints come from Amicus Horizon tenants, complaints of disability discrimination are so common against them.

I am not after any honours, I will settle for a fair deal for my family, a toilet, a bathroom and a bedroom, and Amicus Horizon being fully and properly investigated. Every single person who has asked us for help or friendship is, or has a family member who is disabled, they are all punished using the complaints procedure, their complaints are all justified and, all relate to poor repairs, all are Amicus Horizon tenants, and of the last 5, three of those homes were maintained by Booker and Best.
I am going to start a webring soon, lets get all of these sites linked and everyone communicating. After I have finished paying for the repairs to my home I am going to start saving for more webspace and we`ll start giving people their own websites, just like we did with Churchillunited. I tell you here so that everyone reads it, our sites are now jointly getting over 400 unique hits a day, sooner or later someone with intelligence at Amicus Horizon will realise that it is cheaper and better for the company to honour their tenancy agreements. Thank you for your post it is extremely encouraging.

Monday 3 p.m and two surveys booked already. I asked: What is the purpose of Mr Grimmers survey? I don`t know replied Amicus Horizon. The truthfuil answer of course is to harass. I lived here for 5 years and never had a survey, in the last 10 months I`ve probably had several dozen, except of course the recordings show that no real inspection actually takes place.
Perhaps they want to look at the work I have paid a real builder to do.
Do me a favour everyone and sign our petition for us.

Amicus Horizon carried out their survey today and it turned out that they did not want to survey the house, it was the garden they wanted to look at. Mr Grimmer after examining the steps and pathways said that he would get it done (by Booker and Best) I asked him why he needed to survey the garden as he had already done it several times over the past year, the last time he had said that he wanted to get it all repaired as a matter of urgency on the instructions of Darren Goodsell. Mr Grimmer replied: I don`t remember saying that, I offered to play him the recording but he ignored the offer.
Repairs to the garden were first requested in November 2005 to Mr ken Smith at Amicus Horizon, at the same time the cracks in the wall were reported. Mr Grimmer said he would arrange for Debbie to call me in a couple of hours time ( did,nt happen)to arrange a lift installation, he said Amicus Horizon had a grant from Hastings council of £600,000 and that it would take about a month, if it really is that easy why has it already taken 5 years?.
Disturbingly I asked Mr Grimmer who is their chief surveyor about the fans Booker and Best installed (see above) Mr grimmer said that they should not have wired it up to the boiler because it is illegal, he also promised to have a switch installed to the bathroom fan so it could be used. It will be nice if any of the above comes true but I won`t be holding my breath.

FRIENDS of Jennyfer Spencer led a protest outside the Town Hall's housing office on Tuesday to demand a public inquiry into her death.Severely disabled Ms Spencer, 46, who was known as "Alex", was found dead on the floor of her unadapted fifth-floor flat in Gospel Oak on March 1 following a six-year battle with the Town Hall to be rehoused.
An inquest into her death will take place next month.

Been going through our tapes and noticed that a Booker and Best builder warned us that the lower six feet of our interior supporting wall has been substituted sometime in the past with 2x2 and plasterboard, I wonder could that be why the floor upstairs dips? should I move my piano?
