Churchill UnitedWe started our websites at the request of our local teenagers because they felt a little hard done by.They had nowhere to go except the street and at he time Churchill United began that was more than enough to get them an Asbo.Teenagers like the one in the photo who cared enough about their community and the people living in it to want to help.Churchill United was a great success at the start but then our landlords 1066 Housing Association wanted to get involved and there was no reason why we should doubt their motives. They were advertising for Tenant Involvement and we thought tht they would be very interested in also accepting Teenager Involvement but we were very wrong.At the time we trusted 1066 Housing Association and their parent company Amicus Horizon to lead the way we had 84 members varying in age from 8 years old to 90. We felt flattered and encouraged by our landlords interest and for over four months the local teenagers worked almost everyday including weekends for free.They delivered leaflets. They helped with decorating and rubbish clearance. They organised and supervised a christmas party for the younger children of the estate and they delivered christmas presents.Of their own volition they imposed a ten o`clock curfew on themselves which they kept to diligently and they helped to raise funds for guitas, computer equipment and for these websites.Cheated by 1066 Housing Association an Amicus Horizon who it transpired wanted nothing more than a fake promotional photoshoot for their own website our members were devastated and disillusioned. Many of their parents including me were disgusted by the con but despite a very long and a very hard fight in the end Churchill United became nothing more than a group f friends or as we prefer to call ourselves "Victims of Crime".Had any of us behaved in the same way as 1066 Housing Association did we would have been arrested for fraud and taken to court and if there had been as much evidence as we had/have gainst 1066 housing Association we would probably have been jailed. Our mistake was trusting people like david chidwick from amicus horizon.

Amicus Horizon? New name Same company? or Worse?

As far as we can tell there has been very little change in this company`s policy towards the youths on our local estates. As far as tenant involvement goes nothings changed except the name of the company probably because they brought the once proud name of 1066 into disrepute with their previous activities.
There is a lot of chat and show in their monthly mag about helping the young and involving tenants etc etc but as far as propaganda goes it`s very much the same look that was being published when they conned us. If anything their standards appear to have dropped even lower than before judging from the messages and requests for help that we receive from other tenants.
We now know of three cases where Amicus horizon stand accused of discriminating against disabled tenants, Their repair service seems to have gone to pieces but they get around that by falsely blaming Booker and Best.
Amicus Horizon can concoct as many fake schemes as they want but one day they will have to face up to the truth and that is that the real problem with their company is that they are without pity. They care very little about their tenants because there is no shortage of replacements and if you are a tenant you will quickly realise how they really work the moment you stand up and say `You are Wrong` because that is not allowed.
The cold breeze from slamming doors will be the first change you will feel, the next will be the cancelled or forgotten repairs quickly followed by the ignored complaints, if you are being harrassed by anyone the lack of action from your landlord will quickly remind you to step back in line.
Mrs X from the Churchill estate (wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) has been suffering at their hands for over three years now her story is really quite disturbing and it is upsetting that we can do no more than talk to her on the phone and give her someone to chat to when she gets depressed. (When a bully uses their powers to create such distress then it is time that the people who really govern us, the ones who have the real power like Lord Falconer, should consider changing the existing laws so that causing such illnesses to appear is nothing less than criminal assault) I hope that soon Mrs X will allow us to publish her story in the near future.
Mr Poile from Beckley is not so shy, like us he knows that if you don`t run they cannot chase you and he will not be bullied into the oblivion of depression. Mr Poile is represented by a group of London solicitors: Harper and Co, 75 Grays Inn road, London. who are not put off by the size and power of Amicus Horizon.
Mr Poile tells us that he suffers from Tourette`s syndrome. He was born with it, he is not a bad person he is disabled. He is not a worthless person he is disabled. He is not sub standard he is disabled!
I keep repeating it because Amicus Horizon appear to sometimes think that the definition of the word disabled is `Second Class Tenant`
How can we get away with publishing things like this? Amicus Horizon would tell you that it is all lies but if it was then they would be taking me to court but they won`t do that because they would lose because if we cannot prove something we keep our mouths shut.
We have suffered and continue to suffer extreme haressment from Amicus Horizon and their solicitors over the past few years, especially in regard to our websites. THIS WEBSITE! but as you can see despite wasting thousands of pounds of tenants rent in their efforts to get rid of us we are still here!
19th August 2009 Despite all of the promises from Kerrie Marchington and Darren Goodsell our repairs have still not been completed and we have still not heard from our Housing Manager. Amicus Horizon have refused to accept our complaint that they are failing to respond to requests for repairs and/or that they are failing to investigate or progress complaints. Our emails, their emails prove that they are acting illegally, irresponsibly and in an extremely cowardly manner.

When 1066 Houing decided to share the personal details of about 28,000 tenants with us. I phoned them up and asked: "What do you want me to do with all of these direct debit details?"They replied: "Do what you want we don`t care." Click Here
So I did. I gave them to the Hastings Observer who as you would expect sorted things out.
1066 Housing Association which is owned and ruled by Amicus Horizon which is ruled by Steve Harriott recently objected to our group "Churchill United" owning similar domain names to their own. So far they have spent thousands of pounds in their attempts to hijack these domain names from us in their efforts to avoid supplying the football kit that they promised to our teenage members. The cost of this football kit was only £350.00 when we recieved the first letter from their solicitors our reply stated amicably that we no longer had any use for the two domain names they were planning to dispute and we stated very plainy if you want them just ask but they could not bring themselves to ask the people that they had defrauded and proceeded with their actions through nominet.Tenant involvement! they throw away tens of thousands of pounds that could/should have been used on our young residents. Bullying is in their nature they just cannot help it.No matter how much they spend trying to hide the truth we will continue to put up sites that show what they are really like.

IF You Have A Problem

You are not always as alone and helpless as they make you feel.

In some cases there are Journalists who will make your voice heard.
But your strongest weapon your most loyal ally is the other tenant who is in a similar situation. If there is one thing that bullies do not like it is being outnumbered so look for others before you even begin to fight and life won`t seem so hard.

Yes Loans - We Like to say Yes!Except they don,t say yes because they are con merchants who specialise in preying on people who are on the lowest of incomes.You apply for a loan and no matter how much you apply for they ring you up and say "We have Good News for You!" and that good news is that your application has ben successful and all you have to do to complete your application is send them £49.95.Oh yes, one more thing you also have to purchase a years supply of pretty useless health insurance. Useless because if you are already unemployed what good is it if your insured for when you are to sick to work but even worse what happens when you do all of this?Absolutely nothing except You have a mothly bill for useless health insurance because they are not a loan company. They are not money lenders they are "Brokers" and it is you that they are breaking!. The money you pay them is just their fee for agreeing to present your loan to the loan companies, there is no guarantee that you will get any loan at all and if you do it will be with a company like Provident who you can easily approach yourself if you don,t mond paying 180 per cent interest and everyone says tha Teenagers are crooks. These people should be arrested and fined 180 per cent more than anybody else they are about as despicable as it gets! Don,t Go There!

Over there they string their guitars with cheap fencing wire.

What is my landlord responsible for?

Your landlord will always be responsible for repairs to:

the structure and exterior of the building - this includes the roof, walls, windows and external doors

central heating, gas fires, fireplaces, flues, ventilation and chimneys

water, pipes, basins, sinks, toilets and baths, drains and guttering

gas pipes, electrical wiring, and any appliances provided

common parts such as lift, communal entrances.

Your tenancy agreement may give your landlord extra obligations, such as the maintenance of fences or boundary walls around your home - check to see what it says.
What about dampness?
It isn't always easy to work out who is responsible for sorting out problems with dampness, because it's often difficult to identify the cause. But landlords are usually responsible if the dampness is the result of:

leaking pipes

a structural defect (such as a leaking roof)

an existing damp proof course that is no longer working (if there wasn't one to begin with, your landlord does not have to put one in)

Some dampness is a result of condensation caused by lack of ventilation, lack of insulation, and/or inadequate heating. Check your tenancy agreement - it may say that your landlord has to fix the problem. If you rent your home from a housing association, the council's environmental health department may be able to help you.

Mr John Lawson-Smith advises us that a new ruling was passed in the high court in June which in effect rules that All housing associations/charities from now on will be treated as "Public Bodies" this ruling gives new and extra protection to social housing tenants

Social Housing Landlords who operate a Zero Tolerance Policy towards Tenants should not allow their own Senior Staff to Break the Law. Amicus Horizon Misconduct;Disability discrimination-False I.D to gain entrance to disabled pensioners home-Foul language in the presence of young children-Threats of Eviction- False rent arrears-Persecution-Deliberate damage to tenants homes-Disconnection of Gas-Water-Electricity-Heating-Fire Alarms-Use of the Complaints Procedure as a Weapon against Vulnerable Tenants-Refusals to make adaptations to Disabled Tenants Homes- Refusal to have any contact with Tenants who have a legitimate dispute-Lies to the Press-Lies to the Tenants-Lies to Members of Parliament- I could go on!

The Crown Prosecution Service have agreed to accept our Petition so I will be going up there again soon to present it to them. Hopefully we will succeed in finally getting someone with legal authority to examine our complaints, we are also presenting copies to 10 Downing Street, and the Disability Minister.
